What are antioxidants and which ones are right for you?

Lets firstly talk about talk about free radicals and how they effect your body.

The human body relies on obtaining and processing energy through the metabolism. During the process of metabolization- a small amount of free radicals are produced, which are not harmful in very small amounts. Free radicals exist in the human body and preform a protective function when found in small amounts. However, when in excess, they have a negative impact on our overall health and well-being.

Free radicals are active particles that have an unpaired electron. They take away the missing electron from nearby molecules, destroying the cell and DNA during the process of oxidation. As a consequence of this, a variety of diseases emerge and the aging process is accelerated. Antioxidants prevent oxidation.

free-radicalsAntioxidants can be divided into three groups:

  1. Antioxidants produced by our body.

The human body has a primary antioxidant defense and produces antioxidants on its own. The cell is protected against free radicals by various antioxidant enzymes, among them, superoxide dismutase, catalase and peroxiredoxins.

  1. Natural antioxidants from food.

These antioxidants supplement our natural antioxidant defense system and enter our body through the consumption of food. The most famous antioxidants are vitamins A, C, E, carotenoids, and flavonoids. Antioxidants can be in foods like fresh berries in large quantities, fruits and vegetables, as well as nuts and green tea.

  1. Synthetic antioxidants.

These are dietary supplements or vitamin complexes which were artificially created by humans. The effectiveness of such antioxidants is still under scientific research.

Having considered the above groups of antioxidants, it is clear that the diet should be revised by focusing on fresh fruit, veggies and berries in order to strengthen the antioxidant protection.

The question arises, how do we supplement the list of antioxidants consumed? Synthetic antioxidants are somewhat questionable and most likely ineffective, because artificially created supplements are not absorbed by the body as efficiently as natural ones. In addition, they should be taken strictly according to the doctor’s indications to avoid overdose and side effects.

However, it is still possible to help the body to supplement the lack of antioxidant in a safe way. In 2007, Japanese scientists discovered that molecular hydrogen (H2) is a strong antioxidant that is 176 times more effective than vitamin C. It has positive effect on the human body and is much more effective than many other antioxidants obtained by food.

H2 is the smallest and lightest antioxidant, so it easily penetrates into cells where access to other antioxidants is closed due to a larger size. It is inside cells that the action of free radicals is most destructive. In addition, H2 selectively eliminates only harmful free radicals, bypassing those that are useful for the normal functioning of our body.

Molecular hydrogen not only actively fights toxic free radicals, but also helps to activate the natural antioxidant defense of the body. However, it does not replace other antioxidants, but acts with them together to achieve the best effect. In addition, H2 is absolutely safe, and its excess is easily eliminated from the body in the process of breathing by exhaling it. Delivery of molecular hydrogen to the body can be transmitted through drinking hydrogen rich water, or though inhalations of hydrogen gas.

Hydrogen water is the most widely available source of the antioxidant H2. It also has additional advantages such as: neutral pH and highly negative ORP, which corresponds to the natural needs of our body and turns water into high quality water. Hydrogen water generators are able to produce hydrogen rich water within just a few minutes right in your home. It is a safe and easy to use product for improving the health of all people regardless of age. Eat more plant foods and drink more hydrogen rich water to maintain longevity, health and beauty.
